HOW TO BREAK A RECORD:
RULES AND REGULATIONS
The following is a complete set of rules and regulations for breaking existing Rifle Flow World Records. There are four categories of record types: Minute Spins, Minute Aerials, Most Rotations, and Limit Breakers. Beneath each record type, there are a set of guidelines for the type of records listed, given the differing nature of each type.
If you would like to SET a NEW RECORD, you may do so at NO COST. However, the requirement is that you BREAK AN EXISTING RECORD FIRST. The process for submitting a new record is the same as it is for breaking a record. However, if it is found that the record does not fall within the scope of measurability, (as in, can’t be counted, timed, or otherwise measured within reasonable terms) it can and will be denied with or without written explanation.
THE FOLLOWING ARE RULES THAT APPLY TO ALL RECORDS, REGARDLESS OF TYPE.
1. The Rifle Flow World Records are dangerous in nature. For that reason, certain restrictions will be applied for safety and liability reasons. All records are available for any participant that is 18 years of age or older. Participants that are 16 or 17 years old may attempt any record that falls under Minute Spins, Minute Aerials, or Limit Breakers. Participants that are 16 or 17 years old WILL NOT be validated for records that fall under Most Rotations. If an entry is submitted for Most Rotations by persons under the age of 18, the submission will be disqualified and the participant will receive a refund.
2. The Contender’s Rifle must be Fully in Frame at all times. The Contender must be in view of the camera at all times. Please film widescreen. Portrait mode videos will be accepted but widescreen/Landscape videos are preferred.
3. No Music will be permitted in any record submission. This is for copyright reasons and helps us keep all records public. If there is music playing in your submission, this is not a disqualifier. However, it will be muted before your video is published, supposing the record is broken.
The Rifle Flow World Records is not measuring how well you execute any move. Just that the correct move is executed. If the contender would like more clarification on what is expected from the proper execution of a move, an email with a video example may be sent to RFWorldRecords@gmail.com for confirmation. If the improper move is executed, the entry will be disqualified and the participant will have the option to re-submit correctly or receive a refund.
5. At the beginning of your submission, introduce yourself by name and what record you will be attempting to break. This may be edited into the video for convenience. However, you must show your rifle to the camera before your attempt in the same, continuous shot. (NOTE: TIMERS AND COUNTERS WILL BE APPLIED TO YOUR SUBMISSION AFTER IT IS SUBMITTED. SEND THE RAW FOOTAGE ONLY AND IT WILL BE PROCESSED.)
6. PLEASE NOTE- ALL 1903 DEMILS AND REPLICAS MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING PARTS:
Stock
Handguard
Barrel
Receiver
Bolt
Butt Plate
Trigger Guard (no housing required)
Bayonet Lug
This is to ensure that Rifles meet the minimum weight requirement of 7.5 pounds. (If you have a hook scale and would like to show the weight of your rifle to the camera to meet the 7.5 pound minimum, you may exclude any parts except for barrel, receiver, stock, and hand guard.) BAYONETS ARE PROHIBITED. If this rule is not followed, the entry will be disqualified and the participant will have the option to re-submit correctly or receive a refund.
7. Submissions for record attempt are $10 and validated entries will replace the current record holder if the attempt is successful. Entries will be submitted to RFWorldRecords@gmail.com via Google Drive. Payment will be submitted to PayPal via RFWorldRecords@gmail.com (Note: All proceeds go toward The Street Elite Team Funds which enable the Team to do projects like this and have competition fees paid for.)
8. The procedures set forth herein are not intended to be exclusive in nature. There are no rules that are difficult to follow and no procedures that are overly-specific. That said, there will be SOME allowances made for improperly executed submissions. Reasonable exceptions include, but are not limited to: Not stating your name and record attempt, including music in your video, or having part of your rifle go slightly out of frame. To be clear, these are just examples and not a comprehensive or exhaustive list of possible allowances. HOWEVER: ALL RULES THAT ARE NOT FOLLOWED TO THEIR FULLEST AND MOST NATURAL EXTENT WILL RESULT IN A 2 DOLLAR FEE PER VIOLATION.
Disclaimer: RFWR Staff reserves the right to refuse any submission with or without written explanation, at which time the contestant’s fee will be refunded.
9. If a submission fails to break the record that it is intended to set, (fraction of a spin too short, final aerial catch just after the timer has stopped, etc.) the submission fee WILL NOT be refunded.
MINUTE SPINS
For the records listed, the parameters are as follows:
1. A timer will be applied to the video submitted to be started at the moment the rifle leaves the contender’s hand and will be stopped exactly 60 seconds later.
2. Spins will be counted as the rifle returns to contact with the contender’s hand.
3. An incomplete spin will not be counted. The last rotation to be counted will be the last spin to make contact with the contender’s hand at the end of the spin, before the timer stops.
4. Submissions must be filmed at a minimum of 30 frames per second (higher frame rates appreciated) and 1080p resolution so that the full submission may be clearly seen, counted, and edited. If there is a reasonable amount of difficulty processing the submission due to video quality, the entry will be disqualified and participant will have the option to re-submit correctly or receive a refund.
